Coachella Circa 1999

In 1999 Pearl Jam performed for close to 25,000 people at the Empire Polo Club of Indio, establishing the sustainable location of what (6 years later) would be the home for the Coachella Valley Music Festival. Again the venue saw 25,000 fans at the first Coachella festival in October '99 with headlining acts such as Beck, The Chemical Brothers, and Rage Against the Machine who have returned for later Coachellas.

Currently I'm sitting in the rain and snow of Boston seriously missing the accessibility of this event that I have by living in Southern California. This year is definitely an event I wouldn't want to miss with acts such as Kings of Leon, Flogging Molly, Kanye, DJ Marky, Nas and Damian Marley, Wiz Khalifa, Ratatat, Yelle, the Strokes, and SO many others. So, Dad, if you're reading this: PLEASE FLY ME HOME.
