Alexander Wang

Alexander Wang's apartment was recently featured in W Magazine and has been relayed on blogs including Knight Cat where I first saw the images. I love how white and black his rooms are; it is harsh but artistic especially with the use of animal prints and materials.

Arts & Crafts

My Miz Mooz ankle cowboy boots from a few seasons back. To dye black or not to dye black? That is the question. A little dramatic but it's been a long past few days.

Get Feathered

Last Saturday at BU the on-campus magazine The Buzz was having a fundraiser: hair feathering! Lots of girls around campus have been sporting this new accessory and so I thought I would go check it out. They had tons of bright colors that were going fast but I managed to snag red, turquoise, purple, and black/white striped feathers before they ran out. After picking a few strands to cluster together, you slide it through a hair crimp bead that gets tightened with plyers and that's basically it. Feathered!

The ladies who were doing the feathering were super sweet and helpful and were literally doing this for hours straight. Check out their website and if you live in the Boston area I definitely recommend making an appointment with them for your own feathers! And, if you go to BU be sure to pick up a copy of the next The Buzz issue that comes out soon!

Ombre

It seems as though a lot more ladies are sporting this hair style lately. I think it can go one of two ways: over done and dirty or well kept and on-point. I like Jessica Biel's subtly highlighted ends instead of color blocking like Drew Barrymore or Alexa Chung but these ladies here exemplify the many ways to sport the ombre hair trend this season. Personally I think it brings out dark brown eyes like Shenae Grime's and Whitney Port but the lighter blonde tones on Lauren Conrad, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Leighton Meester do look more natural than the others.

The good thing about this look is it can be achieved inexpensively; if you are one to get your highlights done often, well you can just stop (it might take a little longer but it will be more natural). To keep those existing highlights bright, use a color-healthy shampoo/conditioner but let your roots run free!
